Author Summary
Months after her dangerous encounter with the vampire overlord Saloman, Scottish academic Elizabeth Silk is still trying to cope with both the demands of her vampire-hunting bloodline-and the desire she feels for Saloman, the immortal she brought back from the grave.  But she is not alone in her fascination with Saloman.

When Elizabeth tracks down a distant cousin from America, she learns he possesses an antique sword that has caught the interest of the Grand Master of the American hunters.  It is the ancient and mystical sword of Saloman – treasure of vast occult powers and a prize beyond measure to both vampires and humans.  Now the race is on for possession of the sword.

Even as her enemies and allies shift their allegiances and battle for supremacy, Elizabeth must decide which will rule her own perilous fate: unwanted loyalty or unholy love.

My Thoughts
This second novel in the series is just as engaging and compelling as the first.

This follow-up novel revolves around the legendary Sword of Saloman that was used to kill Saloman over 300 years ago.  It has been passed down through the descendants of the human killers (Tsigana & Ferenc) and is coveted by those believing it holds special powers.

Fearing for all the descendants of Tsigana and Ferenc, Elizabeth tracks down as many as she can to warn them of the danger they face at the hands of Saloman.  Her mission brings her to a distant cousin, Josh, who currently has inherited the legendary Sword of Saloman.  Josh knows there is something unusual about the sword; however, he is unaware of the extent of its powers.  Despite very lucrative offers he refuses to sell it knowing it must stay in the family.

The sword is stolen and a hunt ensues to find it before it can be used for evil.  Since the hunters and Saloman both want to recover the illustrious sword from his enemies, Elizabeth and Saloman make an uneasy alliance to find the sword together.

We see more of the sensual and red-hot love story that is Elizabeth and Saloman.  Still on opposing sides in the dominance for power, Elizabeth still sides with the vampire hunters in their quest to rid the world of vampires, while Saloman still seeks to rule the world (both vampire and human).  That hasn’t changed nor has their love for each other.

Saloman is the perfect bad boy hero we love and fear at the same time. Not truly good or evil, he captures our hearts and stirs our souls.  Elizabeth loves Saloman whole-heartedly and is beginning to understand him, however, she is still uncertain whether they can have a future together given their differences.  Their relationship grows in this novel and their bond strengthens.

The epilogue leaves us wondering if Elizabeth’s ideals will endanger everyone she loves?

My Final View

My opinion is that this novel is a great addition to this series and includes a major bad boy hero, a strong-willed heroine, and the demented actions in a villain’s quest for immortality.  I look forward to the next in the series (Blood Eternal)

Happy reading!
